Integrated Airspace

UTM Architecture: A structured airspace meant to turn the future into reality.

Uper Airspace

Unmaned aircrafts follow previously established rules for manned aircrafts. A flight plan is sent out as usual.

Shared Airspace

The rules that apply to unmanned aircrafts become primary, and manned aircrafts must share the same protocols and communication equipments.

VLL Airspace

With different rules for different occupations, it enables the UAM with the creation of zones, along with municipal offices. The UTM-Zs can be integrated from the shared airspace or with the utilizing of other logistical modes.

Framework

The technological interface of BR-UTM, ECO-UTM is a framework developed by DECEA that provides layered data services, which allows the integration of UTM providers to the airspace

Autorização

Authorization

It checks requests and categorizes operations according to the reported data and enables automation in an area covered by structured data. In cases where this is not possible, it is sent for manual analysis with constant monitoring of the status, to inform the result.

Análise

Analysis

It analyzes, in real time, the proposed operation

Monitoramento

Tracking

In UTM Zones (UTM-Z), it allows the real-time monitoring of the airspace occupation of aircrafts equipped with devices that use the protocol provided for RID.

Timeline

2016

DECEA releases SARPAS, which allows for the request of unmanned aircrafts flights through the web, and brings speed to the authorization of operations outside of the pre-established NFZs.

2017

ANAC launches the Unmanned Aircraft System (SISANT) and standardizes the process to enable unmanned equipment to utilize airspace using a single code.

2021

DECEA issues the approach proposals to face the challenges brought by Urban Air Mobility (UAM) and Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM).

Inovação

What about the future?

The future has already begun. From the proposals presented, integration events with the industry and research will be created to consolidate concepts, as well as clarifications on events of usage and integration testing. From this process, standards and rules will be defined, always aiming for the safety and efficiency of the airspace.

Questions? Please check out our FAQ section.

When will the ECO-UTM be available?

Analysis and Authorization services will be made available for testing later this year.

Has the RID protocol to be used already been defined?

Implementation Roadmap

Is there a development/evolution plan for SARPAS?

Yes, a new version of SARPAS will be launched later this year, already integrated into the ECO-UTM framework.

What are UTM zones?

They are areas of VLL airspace with adequate infrastructure for UAS operation.
